The thermo lignum technique

Some of the birds coming off the bird gallery this week are treated with the eco-friendly thermo lignum technique which uses warm air to eradicate pests.
Here are some photos of the stuffed birds being packed in cardboard boxes for treatment:

    I have a few questions if that’s OK.

    Have you found the results satisfactory? Or is it too early to tell? How did the process compare to freezing specimens?

      I shall pass your question on to our conservators for their expert opinion. We helped with preparing and loading the specimens into the van, but haven’t really been involved post-heating.
