Ancient Worlds conservation

There’s always so much to do to get the objects ready for a new gallery.  I’ve been helping number these Egyptian objects in the conservation lab, so each one can be returned to the right box or shelf  in the store room.

Brush a small area of the back with Paraloid solution.  When dry, write the accession number with a permanent marker pen.

A few weeks ago I was re-threading egyptian bead necklaces.

Take a bead off the old necklace (brown cord) and thread onto the new cord (white).  Tie a jump ring at each end so it can be hung from pins on a display board.  I love the shades of blue in this necklace, above.
